Hi, I'm Kat!

I am Kat Vallario, OT (they/them/theirs), and I provide personalized occupational therapy services to folks across the lifespan. I also offer a variety of other nature-based and community programs to foster meaningful connections with ourselves, our neighbors, and the Earth.
I am a white, nonbinary, queer, person of socioeconomic privilege. I grew up and live on the unceded land of Massachusetts.
I started Oak Tree because I was yearning for a holistic wellness model that did not appear to exist inside the United Stated health care model - a model that recognizes and respects the interconnectedness of all living things.
Oak Tree is what I needed, and what I believe the children and families I work with need too: intentional time in nature, genuine connection with others, and a form of care that acknowledges the broader forces that shape our health and our lives. My hope is that Oak Tree feels like a place of healing, possibility, and community for everone.
~Kat
Mission Statement and Values
At Oak Tree, our values aren't an afterthought — they're the foundation everything is built on.
Interconnectedness: We believe that people, communities, and the natural world are deeply linked. Healing doesn't happen in isolation; it happens in relationships — with each other, with our environments, and with the living world around us.
Inclusion & Belonging: Oak Tree is built to be a space where everyone belongs. We are committed to creating an environment that is welcoming and affirming of all people, regardless of background, identity, or ability.
Equity & Justice: We recognize that health is shaped by systems, not just individual choices. Oak Tree is committed to equitable, accessible care and to acknowledging the ways that structural and historical forces — including the lasting impacts of colonialism and capitalism — affect the wellbeing of individuals and communities.
Dignity & Worth: We hold the inherent worth and dignity of every person — and every living being — as central to how we show up in our work. Every individual who walks through our door (or meets us at the park) deserves to be seen, respected, and valued.
Holistic Wellness: We take a whole-person approach that honors the connection between mind, body, spirit, and community. True wellness, in our view, is not just the absence of difficulty — it's the presence of meaning, connection, and joy.
Mission Statement
Oak Tree Community Wellness is a holistic occupational therapy practice rooted in the belief that healing happens in community and in connection with the natural world. We offer occupational therapy, coaching, and group programs to people of all ages to help our community members engage in the activities that bring meaning, connection, and joy to their lives.
